Hi! I’m Melanie Brooks, MSW, RSW. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I completed my Bachelor of Social Work at Toronto Metropolitan University (formally Ryerson University) and then earned my Masters of Social Work with a specialization in children and their families at the University of Toronto. I have provided counselling to children, youth, and their families in community mental health services and school settings.

I provide individual therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, interpersonal challenges, and life transitions. Those who have difficulty managing stress, understanding their emotions and behaviours may find it helpful to work through challenges and develop coping skills to navigate life experiences during therapy sessions. As a current School Social Worker with the York Region District School Board, I also help students and families navigate academic, social and mental health challenges.

My approach to therapy offers a warm, collaborative and non-judgmental approach with an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. I have experience using a wide range of treatment modalities, such as, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy. I strive to create a safe space working alongside children, adolescents and families to establish goals and a plan to achieve them in hopes of creating meaningful and sustainable change! Please feel free to be in touch and book a free 15-Minute Consultation to see if we would be a good fit to work together!

Hi! I’m Kyla Lipsman, MA, RSW.

Taking the first step toward therapy can be challenging and overwhelming. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can feel comfortable sharing any challenges you may be facing. Whether its anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or managing school and career stress – we can work together to empower you to modify those thoughts and behaviours that are no longer serving you.

I work from a strengths-based perspective, guided by cognitive behavioural, attachment based and mindfulness based therapeutic approaches. I continue to pursue additional trainings to ensure I can provide an individualized treatment plan for each client’s specific needs.

I offer couples therapy for partners who want to strengthen their connection, improve communication, and navigate challenges with greater understanding and care. Whether you’re facing ongoing conflict, life transitions, or feeling disconnected, therapy provides a supportive space to slow down and be heard. Together, we’ll work to identify patterns that are keeping you stuck, and develop healthier ways of coping.

Many couples often find themselves caught in difficult communication cycles; repeating the same arguments, feeling misunderstood, or unsure how to truly hear one another. In some cases, there may also be the pain of broken trust, including infidelity. Therapy offers a space to gently work through these experiences and begin the process of repairing and rebuilding trust in a way that feels thoughtful, respectful, and supportive of both partners.

I look forward to connecting with you to begin your journey of healing. Please feel free to be in touch and book a free 15-Minute Consultation.
